by either a auto dealer, expeditor,
or electronics retailer. |
| ASP |
Application Service Provider. An ASP bundles infrastructure,
software applications, and other related services
for its customers. These applications are managed
remotely from the infrastructure provided by the
ASP rather than installed at the location of the
end user. |
| Cellular |
Cellular refers to an analog or digital mobile phone
system operating in the 800MHz band. |
| Control
Channel |
Within a cellular telephone system, several of the
channels are assigned as 'control' channels. Instead
of supporting voice data transmissions, cellular
control channels allow the base station to broadcast
information to the cellular devices in its area.
Cellular devices continuously monitor this broadcast
information, selecting the base station that provides
the strongest signal. |

is the automated phone system whereby a caller makes
various selections via the touchtone pad or through

Networks Operations Center.
The NOC is the central LunarEye facility that processes
both inbound and outbound messages for notification,
control, and tracking services. |
| OEM |
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) refers to
automobile manufacturers such as GM, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler,
Toyota, etc. |
| Telematics |
Telematics is the combination of communications
and computer technology for the automotive industry.
This combination gives people the power of remote
vehicle access, as well as the ability to provide
location-specific information regarding their vehicle.

Voice User Interface. VUI is the voice phone interface
used by callers for inbound and outbound calls.
The IVR function is part of the overall VUI. |
